NEW PAPER
Our latest paper, from Robert Gray, in collaboration with colleagues in Edinburgh, Ireland and the USA, is now published in Thorax, demonstrating that CFTR mutation in neutrophils leads to a delay in spontaneous apoptosis, with a resultant increase in neutrophil death by NETosis. This may contribute to lung inflammation in cystic fibrosis, which could be amenable to treatment using drugs that promote an anti-inflammatory apoptotic form of neutrophil cell death.
